Thato Moraba holds a Master of Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Metallurgy and Materials Engineering) from the University of the Witwatersrand and has completed his MBA degree with the Wits Business School. He is currently studying for a Law degree with the UNISA which he is due to complete in June 2021. He is currently a Senior Manager (Strategy and Business Design) at Deloitte in Johannesburg. As a Senior Manager, He responsible for the sales and delivery of projects, while nurturing and managing executive level client relationships, as well as team growth and development. His main portfolios include playing a leading role in mining and manufacturing, as well as heading the Diversity and Inclusion portfolio for the Strategy team at Deloitte. Prior to Joining Deloitte, he held various roles in Management consulting and in the Energy, Resources and Industrials Sectors. He is registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng). He is currently the Vice-Chair of the WBS alumni committee and also represents the committee on the WBS Advisory Board as a member of the Board.
He is a confident negotiator who is able to compellingly convey the message at hand to all levels of stakeholders. Thato was a founding committee member for the Wits Business School consulting club where he was also Vice-President of the Consulting Club (2015), The Young Professional Council (2014) where he also championed the Entrepreneurship portfolio and served as the Chairman for the Metallurgical Engineering Students Society at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2010. He remains committed and continue to contribute meaningfully to the affairs of the Business school in his various capacities.
