Leading in the Digital Age – A Conversation with Lillian Barnard, President: Microsoft Africa

We are delighted to invite you to our next WBS Leadership Dialogue with one of Africa’s true “movers and shakers”. Ms Lillian Barnard has devoted her 30-year career in the digital sector in building high-performance teams and delivering innovative digital solutions to her customers and partners. Lillian currently serves as the President of Microsoft Africa, a position she assumed in April 2023. Before this role, she was the CEO of Microsoft South Africa for four years. Prior to joining Microsoft as Public Sector Director in 2017, she served as Chief Sales Officer at Vodacom. Lillian spent more than 15 years with IBM, holding several executive positions in France and Switzerland before taking on the role as Business Partner Executive Sub-Saharan Africa.
 
Lillian is passionate about building a diverse and inclusive workspace where people are encouraged to show up as their authentic selves. Her philanthropic endeavours in promoting education, healthcare and economic empowerment make her a role model for future African leaders.
