WBS Leadership Dialogues | The Impact of Covid on SMME’s in General and on Black Business in Particular - The Way Forward

When Covid-19 struck last year, some small businesses turned crisis into opportunity: they changed tactics and leveraged technology to ensure their survival. But sadly, for many more, the pandemic was ‘the last straw’ in an already tough economy, and they were forced to close their doors.

Small business is the lifeblood of a growing economy. What needs to be done to support SMMEs in South Africa so that they are better positioned to thrive, and not fold, in times of crisis?

Wits Business School is pleased to invite you to the next in our WBS Leadership Dialogues in which we will unpack the real impact of Covid on small businesses in general, and on black-owned businesses in particular, and consider the way forward.

Our panellists:

  • Mr Sandile Zungu – Founder and chairman of Zungu Investments Company
  • Mr Septi Bukula – Founder and director of Osiba Management
  • Dr Jabulile Msimango-Galawe – Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Wits Business School

Facilitator: Professor Maurice Radebe – Director and Head of School: Wits Business School

The WBS Leadership Dialogue Series provides a platform for high-profile business leaders and academics to engage on solutions to Africa’s most pressing challenges.
