The WBS Scholarship programme was established for talented individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who are seeking to further their business careers through the WBS MBA programme. The scholarship recipients are chosen from applicants that have applied for the full and part time MBA programme and who fit the prerequisite admissions requirements and scholarship criteria.
“One of our four pillars of excellence here at WBS is character excellence. Through this, WBS aims to graduate leaders that strive for inclusivity and sustainability and are driven by a desire to make a difference. But as a school we lead by example and the scholarship programme is just one instance of this in action,” says Professor Steve Bluen, Head of the Wits Business School.
The scholarship structure currently comprises two full scholarships and seven part scholarships spread over the full and part time MBA courses for their entire duration.
“Our admissions process is a rigorous one for all students, so the calibre of our scholarship recipients has always been exceptional. We are confident that the students will thrive in this environment and we are proud to support them through their learning journey,” says Conrad Viedge, MBA Programme Director at WBS.
“While we as a nation struggle with ever increasing wealth disparity and rising inequality, we remain totally committed to transformation and to investing in the future leaders of our country and continent by all means possible to us as a top business school located in an economic hub of Africa,” Bluen adds.
“On behalf of WBS, we congratulate our students and look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength”, concludes Viedge.
