WBS welcomes MBA exchange students from Chicago Booth

In our quest to be the partner of choice for top global academic institutions, Wits Business School (WBS) continues to engage international business schools on exchange programmes for students. As part of its international students exchange programme, WBS welcomed two students from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in Illinois, USA.

Amanuel Seife and Jonathan Davis, both Atlanta citizens pursuing their MBA degrees at Chicago Booth, chose to come and complete their elective courses at WBS. They were at the management campus for two of the twelve months and took the following courses: Business in Africa, Industry Foresight and Business Future Strategy, African Leadership, and Asset Management and Portfolio Formation.

Speaking at the meeting with the two students, WBS Director of Development and Partnerships and Professor in International Business and Strategy Prof Mills Soko said “the value of international exchange programmes lies in their providing students with the opportunity to study in a different country and to immerse themselves in that country's social and cultural milieu”.

While in Johannesburg, both Amanuel and Jonathan attended classes with local students and opted not to be placed in classes with only international exchange students. The two also had an opportunity to explore the beauty of South Africa. During their stay, they visited Cape Town and experienced the majestic Garden Route. They also went on safari at the Pilanesberg National Park in the North-West and visited a lot of restaurants and coffee shops in Johannesburg and Pretoria.
